okie doke... this week I'm thinking about having a bbq at my house for my birthday... thursday cuz I have to work on friday night... bring your own meat/non-meat, beer, maybe a side dish, and a lawn chair... input? ideas? HELP!!! I'll post a definite location and times tomorrow...
Ok kids this week's Nu-Fud is as follows:
Paradox Palace Cafe
3439 SE Belmont St.
I am told that they don't take debit/credit cards, but I really don't know that for sure so if it's an issue for you, you may want to check that out for yourself. I am assured they have vegetarian AND vegan selections. I've never been there myself but I have heard good things from people who have. So come one, come all. See you there!

mrsister: On duty
Ok, ok. I'm finally going to do my duty and post this review (read: Ambie, quit pestering me!;)). Our last Nu_Fud adventure took us to Vita Cafe. Lemme just say, Vita = yumm. Now I must confess that this was not new to me at all- I have been loving the Vita for a couple years now. HOWEVER! I did try a dish that I haven't had before so I think that counts. I had the vegan mac & cheese and it was deeelish! Also, the boys were kind enough to let me taste their lasagna, curry, and nachos. All excellent options. I had a fabulous time and couldn't have asked for better company- our little group seems to be growing and that makes me happy. Fun people are fun. :D
Ok, let's get down to business. Time for the ratings.
Out of 5, 5 being the best:
Atmosphere - 5 flea treatments.
I love the atmosphere at Vita. It's very relaxed and casual, and it's just loud enough that you feel comfortable talking and joking with the people at your own table without feeling like all the other tables are listening in, but not so loud that it's hard to hear what your friends across the table are saying to (or about) you.
Service - 4 flea treatments.
They were busy (which is usual for a Friday) and we were a pretty large group. I guess it could have been a bit faster, but I'm not one to complain especially when I have 6 fabulous people at the table keeping me entertained. The staff is always friendly and if you need something that they've forgotten or missed somehow, all you have to do is ask. And this portion of the rating was not at all influenced by the fact that I have a slight view-from-afar type crush on the girl that was our server that night. Del, you know what I'm saying. ;)
Food - 5 flea treatments.
Excellent! I highly recommend Vita to vegans, vegetarians, and carnivores alike! They have a little bit of everything and it is all oh-so-tasty. I've never gotten anything there that I didn't like.
Company - 10 flea treatments!
on a scale of 1 - 5 y'all (I'm from Utah- I can use that word if I want to) are 10's!
All my Nu_Fud love,
This week's Nu Fud Friday will be at...

6pm, or something like it... :)
Laughing Planet Cafe is vegan/vegitarian/carnivore and kid friendly! And Citysearch.com said something about ginger cookies... YUM!!
Hope to see you there!
c'mon.... you know you wanna! ;)
WOO!! YAY! for the biggest Nu Fud thus far!!! This week we had a table of 7! Thanks to nonsequiter
for joining us!! razorswitch17
and his right hand man, Andrew were even there! Much to our dismay, however, falsefiction
either was not able to make it or didn't see us... boohoo! And unfortunately, sub81
had a sick boy to take care of and was unable to join us... ANDIE!! NEXT WEEK!!
Righty-o! On with the ratings! (out of 5, of course!)
very fun, open, easygoing! I especially liked the bathroom setup and those groovy traffic sign plate thingies.
All the booths are made out of varnished plywood... very el cheapo cool.
It took a while to get a table, it took a while to place our orders, it took a while to get our food, and they were out of 2 things I wanted (all understandable considering we were a group of 7 on a friday night), but the servers were friendly and helpful and I had beer and good company, so it's all good :)
Even though they were out of the "fish" and chips... and even though they didn't tell me they were out of lasagna until everyone else had their food, the mac and "cheese", or as I'd call it "spirals and flea treatment" was EXCELLENT! It was even good cold. The vegan cheesecake was... different. It was good as long as you weren't expecting some gooey new york cheescakey goodness. It had a sort of appleish taste and a different texture, but yummy nonetheless. All in all, Vita's vegan fare gets 5 out of 5 for creativity and outright tastiness!
Hope to see you all next week!!
(PLEASE post your ratings!!!)

ok.. so, this week, apparently there is no interest outside of me and brett.. and sorry brett, but I wont be able to attend. that, and I really dont like vegan food (I must have at least some animal biproduct in my food or I'll go crazy) so.. yeah..
Maybe we all should figure out how to work this.. like, maybe plan nu_fud days other then friday, or have people post if they'll be available to attend. That might be a good idea.
